Pier 1 Outdoor Dining for Spring

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1 for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I just had a super fun experience at Pier 1 in Southlake, Texas!  The employee's there were more than helpful and made my shopping experience very enjoyable and easy.

Pier 1

I went with outdoor dining in mind for this spring and I came away with so many goodies!

I started with two great Indoor/Outdoor pillows.

I found these great, pale yellow place mats that I thought complimented the green pillows.

The napkin rings were so fun to shop for!  They have a ton of super cute napkin rings at very affordable prices!  I went with these pretty rust colored flowers.

The final pieces I picked up to complete my spring dining look were these beautiful Garden Lanterns!  I thought these would make a perfect center piece and I could use citronella candles to keep the bugs away!

After a quick and easy check-out, I couldn't wait to get these home and on my patio table!

Ahhh!  Ready for spring!

The napkin rings are the perfect touch for spring dining!  I love that they are so versatile and can be used for inside dining as well!

These indoor/outdoor pillows are perfect!  These are heavy enough to withstand the high march winds and they are soft enough for inside!

The Garden Lanterns are my favorite final touch!  I love that they are decorative and functional at the same time!

We are all set for our first spring party and I spent right under $100!  I chose items that I could use inside and outside to get the most for my money.  These items are very durable and the quality verses the price is outstanding, not to mention how beautiful my patio table looks now!  I'm ready to show it off!

March 20th is the first official day of spring!  Head on over to Pier 1 and get started on decorating your patio!

Quilt Clip DIY and a Video

Hi friends!  So, the nursery is still a work in progress.  I'm convinced that by the time I have it where I want it Tenley will be ready for a new theme:)  That doesn't take the fun out of the decorating though!

I've been wanting to hang her quilt above her bed but was stuck on how I would hang it because this bedding line does not have matching quilt clips.
I remembered these great clips at Hobby Lobby!

I purchased two medium sized clips.  You can find them in the unfinished wood section and make sure you either use a coupon or wait until wood is on sale.  Otherwise, they are pretty pricey!

I painted them a red that I had mixed at Home Depot to coordinate with the bedding.  I also distressed the edges a bit with my 3M sanding block.

I purchased these sawtooth hangers at Wal-Mart for about $1.00.

I hammered one sawtooth hanger to the back of each clip.

Then I just had to hang them and clamp the quilt down!

Whitney and I have had a lot of requests to share our nurseries with you all.  To be honest, my nursery is just now finally ready to share!  Like I said, it is a work in progress but I'm excited with the way it is turning out so, the best way for me to share it with you all is a video.

Most of the items in the nursery were either free or bought at a second hand store.  The bed, bedding and chandelier are the only pieces that I purchased brand new!  I love that every piece in her nursery has a story and that the stories will continue from here:)  I hope you enjoyed my little video peek!

Thanks so much for stopping by:)

A Little Mirror for Londyn

Hey guys!  I showed you all my new niece a few days ago.  She's precious! My sister wanted a mirror for her room which brought us to this project!

Here is how we did it...

We found this super cheap mirror at Homegoods.  We loved the lines but it just needed a little revamp with Rust-Oleum!

Here she is drying...

Then we used a few different scraps of fabric that coordinated with her nursery to make some flowers.  If you missed my flower tutorial you can find it here.

After finishing those up I used my hot glue gun to attach them to the front of the mirror.

Pretty simple... No pattern to follow here.  Just put them where they look good.  My sister replaced the mirror (that we broke trying to remove for spray painting) and she got it hung in the nursery!  She used some burlap ribbon for the bow which I think is the perfect touch!

How cute would this be done in black or white with some burlap and canvas flowers??... Hmmm... I have yet another project for my list!

And on a fun note.... Today is baby day for Ashley!!  We can't wait to meet her new little girl and get her not pregnant and crafting again :))... Woohoo!!

Have a happy Tuesday... I know I will!!

My First Touches of Fall!

Hey guys!! Happy Fall... Whoop!! I'm so excited to finally be saying that!  After way too many weeks of 100+ degree weather here in Texas I have never been so happy for Fall.  I just wanted to show you my first few touches.  I ran across these cuties in the paint section at Lowe's several months ago.

I loved them! They are perfect for so many things and I was finally inspired to actually purchase one when the pumpkins came out this year... Woohoo!  I just bought a bunch of different pumpkins and gourds from a local nursery and put them in the tub.

Not much of a tutorial here :)  Just fill it up and put it on a table somewhere.  I used mine for my dining table centerpiece.  It will be great during Winter too filled with other goodies!  Great $10 investment... Thank you Lowe's!

I also wanted to do a pumpkin stack in my entry right by the stairs.  I bought these super cute pumpkins in different sizes so I could stack them... So cute... And it required no spray paint ;)

I also found these great silver pumpkins at Marshall's last week!  I paid $13 for both together which I thought was a steal!  They look like they came from Pottery Barn with a much prettier price tag.

Here are just a few more touches I added this week.  I found this great galvanized container at Michael's for $3 on clearance.  My younger sister and I ran across these cherry blossom stems at Michael's too.  I am very anti-silk flowers in my own home but these were so cute to me!!  I added a bit of dried curly willow in with it.

I also found this antique rice bowl at my trip to Round Top last Fall.  I change it out with different goodies and for now it is full of baby pumpkins and gourds.  Did I mention that I LOVE Fall :)!??

So again... Not really a tutorial here but I did want to show you a few ways I am changing out the seasons at my house.  Have you gals been getting ready for Fall??  We would love to see some of your pics! Link them up to our Facebook page so we can see them and share them with our other readers!!  Have a happy Monday... I am going outside!!

Ballard Inspired Cuties!

Hey guys!! Sorry about the absence between posts... Something about being 9 months pregnant, 106 degrees outside and having all my kids at home slows me down just a bit :) I have been getting projects done though and I wanted to share this one with you.  I recently got the new Ballard catalog online and saw this super cute picture...

I loved everything about it.  I love the bracket shelves, all that white and I love those topiaries.  My project started just recreating the shelves and led to a slightly different ending.  The very first thing I needed was the brackets.  I went to Hobby Lobby to get some metal brackets I had planned on painting white.  They also have a great selection of wood and resin corbels that would be cute painted white too.  I then remembered these great corbels I purchased on my trip to Round Top last year.

There was a really sweet couple there who sell mantels and corbels they make from old chippy wood and tin.  I scored two of these for $8 a piece!  I decided to use them instead of the metal brackets.  My next stop was Michael's to find something to put on top of my shelves.  I wanted the topiaries from Ballard but with a $60 price tag I said no thanks!  While at Michael's I was lucky enough to stumble upon these!!

Yes... That's right! Those are boxwood topiaries... Yeah!  These were buy one get one free so I got 2 for $12! I loved them but was not loving the pots.  I had a plan though.

My first step was to cut some wood for the top of my shelves.  I used cheap 1x8 I got from Lowe's for under $5.  I used my miter saw to cut two 6" pieces.

Here they are just before getting a coat of our fav... Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch in Heirloom White!

Here it is dry!

I penciled off center on the bottom of the wood and used another favorite product for the next part.  I used Gorilla Glue Epoxy.

I just mixed the epoxy using the directions on the package and applied it to the bottom of the wood shelf.

Then I just attached the wood corbels to the shelf piece and let them dry.

While those were drying I started working on my topiaries.  I purchased a roll of jute twine from Hobby Lobby.

I then pulled out my new hot glue gun because I had yet another one go see Jesus.

I started at the bottom of the pot and wrapped the twine as I went up.  Every couple of inches I would add a drop of hot glue.

A few minutes later....

When I made it to the top I tied a cute little bow and I was set!

My final step was to hang my new cuties and take pictures for you guys! Here is how they turned out...

What do you think??  I love them!  I must thank Ballard for the super cute idea and bad prices to inspire me to make my own.  I'm off to browse their catalog a bit more!  Have a great Thursday and we will be back soon!

Don't forget! I Made it Without My Hubby is in two days! Get those projects ready!!
