Fabric Flower Wreath

This project actually started when I was making flower headbands for my new little girl.  I made a few and fell instantly in love and had to have a few around the house.  My first target was my winter walnut wreath that has managed to stay hanging until Summer... Oops :)  I started with a $3.99 grapevine wreath from Hobby Lobby.

I didn't want it quite so rustic so I shantied it up a bit by giving it a coat of our favorite spray paint...
Rustoleum Painter's Touch in Heirloom White.

Here she is drying...

While waiting on that to dry I started on my flowers.  Now... I will not at all claim to be the mind behind fabric flowers.  They have been around forever so I spent the weekend with my mother-in-law searching google for some tutorials.  I did find a few that helped us get started but in the end I came up with a couple simple methods that saved tons of time.  I will share that tutorial with you in a few days for those of you that are interested.  For now, I will just show you the rest of the wreath with the finished flowers.  I used some blue linen and cream lace trim for my flowers.  I dabbed a bunch of hot glue on the back of the flowers...

And then arranged and glued them down where I wanted them on the wreath... That easy :)

Here they are all glued down.

My next step was to hang it up.  I knew I would be hanging it on my old window so I used a piece of thick jute twine from Hobby Lobby.

I wrapped it around the top of the wreath 5-6 times and tied a knot at the top to hang it.  Here is the finished result...

I will be back soon with the flower tutorial for those of you that want to check it out.  In the meantime make sure you stop by and check out Lisa Leonard and all of her fabulous and funky bling... So CUTE!!!
