Super Cute Baskets

Hey Guys! I have been wanting baskets for my sewing table and finally got around to getting them done today.

Here's what I did.  I found these great baskets at Michael's for $6.50 a piece on sale.

Then I used the same lovely gold frames I found at Dollar Tree to make my labels.

I took the glass and cardboard backing out of the frames and gave all three of them a coat of Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch in Heirloom White.

Then I shantied them up a bit using Ralph Lauren Faux Antique glaze.  You just paint it on and wipe it off with a wiping cloth or old shirt.

After those dried I took my cardboard backings and a small piece of burlap to the garage.

I used Elmer's Spray Adhesive on each piece of cardboard and placed them on my burlap like this.

Then, I used scissors to cut around each piece of cardboard.

I used my Cricut to cut #'s 1-3 to use as a stencil.  I stenciled a number on each piece.

So cute!  After that, just put them back into your frames and you are almost done.

I used my hot glue gun to attach a label to each basket.

After I finished them all up I was ready to put them on my table.  I had intended on having lots of pictures for you guys but I took them too late and the lighting is terrible.  I did get a few though.

So, for just about $8 a basket I am a happy girl!  Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you have any questions!

  14. You just gave me a great idea for folded clothes for each of my kids to put away. They can each have their own basket to put away when I'm folding all the laundry.

  36. My friend Robyn (robynlonghurst.typepad.com) just sent me this link!!! DeLIsh!! Love this project. Thanks for all the step by step pics. I will add this to my project list. I was wondering if that antiquing glaze would work on trim and shelving that is already white. I am trying to "shabby up" my little girls room. Any tips? Thanks so much.
