I have learned never to turn down FREE items! I may not have a vision for it yet but if it sits in the garage long enough and idea will follow!!! This is how I ended up with my tree topper this Christmas!
My mom changes her tree decor a little every year so she set her old topper out for me (she actually thought I wouldn't want it....nothing a little spray paint magic can't handle!)
The gold glitter didn't fit with my tree decor
so armed with a can of our favorite color of Rust-Oleum ~ Heirloom White ~ I got to work!
Just a few coats inside and out!
Never underestimate the power of twine ~ 4ply randomly wrapped and secured to the backside with hot glue!
She's ready for her debut!!!
Thanks for stopping by!!! ~ Ashley:)
Don't forget about our upcoming Link Party and Giveaway!!! Details are soon to follow but in the mean time you can grab our button to help get the word out!!!
Love it! The twine was the perfect touch. I've been working some "twine magic" myself today.
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Very cool! I bet it would look great with white lights stuffed inside!

Cute!
ReplyDelete...on a side note- I'm in love with your blog... and have been spending hours looking at it! We live about an hour from a Hobby Lobby/Michaels, etc.
However... my Hubby is working in Des Moines tomorrow... and I am sending him to work armed with a list for HL! LOL Thanks for the inspiration!

So cute! Tonight my Mom showed me a bunch of 'junk' she wants to get rid of. Can't wait to stash it for a good craft idea. Gotta love the Mom's!

Great idea! I need a tree topper (my top is currently bare) and I saw a topper like this at Walmart, but didn't like the "gold". Its on my list now! thanks!!
ReplyDeleteWhen the highlight of your shopping experience is not the $100 shoes you got for $12.50 or the $60 shirt for $5 but the 3M sanding block sander on clearance for $2.99, does that mean you've been Shantified!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust curious..
Looks so much better now! Beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteooo . . . good thinking! Kelly

Very cute! I took a similar star and covered it in silver German glass glitter. This would've been another great alternative.
