Cotton Pickin' CUTE!

Hey guys!! Happy Saturday to all of you!!  I spent all most of my morning cleaning Hurricane Gainer.  In the process I also did a few small revamps around the house.  I wanted to share this one with you guys because I am so excited with the outcome:)!  I went shopping with my youngest sister on Friday and visited a store I often drool over.  While most of their items are slightly out of my shanty budget, I did find one piece that was not only so cute... but also thrifty!  Here is what I did with it...

I found this great birch wood sleeve at PB for $12.... Woohoo!!  I bought it... not knowing what I would do with it:)  Today... while cleaning I decided it was time to change up my bar space a bit.  I was able to pick a few branches of cotton on our last trip to Lubbock.  I trimmed them up a bit, put them in a glass jar I found at Hobby Lobby and put the sleeve around it.  I LOVE it! Simple but oh so cute:) And... for those of you that don't frequent cotton farms you can also find a very cute substitute HERE.  Now... for a few more pics...

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great Sunday!

  8. Now that is just one darn cute idea. I guess if you couldn't find a cotton branch you could always improvise with a branch and some cotton balls!
    Love it, too cute!

  9. Very cute. I got some cotton when I was visiting my inlaws in North Carolina. I had never seen it in it's natural state in person. There's something very cool about the flully cotton and the dried stems. Great idea.

  16. Wow, I have enjoyed your blog for sometime now, and my surprise to see you mention a town I lived near (90 miles, close in West TX terms). We have moved since, and miss the beauty of the white cotton filled fields :)

  17. I love this! It reminds me of when I was young and I would drive down to Corpus Christi with my grandpa and he would stop on the side of the road to let me get out and pick up some cotton seeds. Many times I tried to plant them but I don't really remember what ever happened to them! Ha! I love the look of full cotton fields..there is just nothing like it! Thanks for sharing! -April

If you get a chance, it'd be great if you could include a quick link for participating in the Show & Tell. ;) As you know, I'm included among so many others as a big shanty2chic fan. You two rule in DIY creativity and talent. I love seeing what you're up to and what you come up with next! Keep it up!

Oh - did I miss if you both one the Michael's contests? I bet you did! You certainly deserved to win!

    Thanks ladies.
    Take care.
