Whitney

Hey guys~ Whitney here... A little background about me and what started this whole process... I would definitely call my style a mix of things. I love cottage, country and a bit of traditional as well. I have attempted (not always achieved) almost any craft. I have found along the way that I love, love the process of revamping old treasures and giving a piece an entire new look. I love paint, old furniture, magazines, my sewing machine and fabric. Sewing is a serious passion but now that my girls are too old for my "Sunday School clothes", I have turned my attention to our home. We recently finished building our house and I have spent the last six months or so getting it dressed. I love to teach others and give advice on all things crafty and I love learning as well. Every great idea must be copied! I'll share a few pics of one of my recent redos...

I have a great family that often passes on old furniture and goodies. I received this great coffee table a few weeks ago. I love the lines on it and all the great drawers... it was in great shape but just needed a little makeover. I lost the glass on the top... way too many fingerprints to clean. I painted the entire table and drawer fronts in black eggshell. I barely distressed the edges using a PedEgg... yes a PedEgg(best distressing tool ever). I added some cheap hardware from Hobby Lobby and I was done. It fits my space perfect and I couldn't have shopped for a better table. I will be sharing this little makeover at the Roadkill Rescue Party over at Infarrantly Creative! http://infarrantlycreative.blogspot.com/2007/08/roadkill-rescue-party.html

  12. Hello Whitney - it's nice to meet ya! I'm late to the party. I had to do a double take to make sure that was the same coffee table! Oh my, how absolutely fabulous it turned out! Love the distressing tool - I wouldn't use it on my feet, but totally would on my furniture projects! LOL. I really like how you've arranged things on the top.

    Blessings,

  13. May I ask what type of material you filled the glass in with? I am looking to do a similar transformation with my LR furniture.

    Thanks,
